2016 Bandits Annual General Meeting Concluded

The Brooks and District Junior “A” Hockey Association, which owns and operates the Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL), is pleased to announce the results of its 2016 Annual General Meeting, held Monday, June 27th at the Centennial Regional Arena in Brooks, Alberta.

For personal reasons, Tom McNulty has elected to step down as the organization’s President, but will remain with the team’s executive in the role of Past President. Paul Seaton was acclaimed to return as the organization’s President, marking his eighth year in the position and his fifteenth on the Board of Directors.

Josh Argue returns to his executive position as Vice-President, while Kelly Tanigami remains on the executive, filling the vacant Secretary position. Joining the executive this year is second-year board member Bert Scholtz, who takes on the Treasurer position.

Shaun Veroba, James Mitchell, Reg Swartz, and Lorne Tremblay returned to their positions as Directors-At-Large, while Shawn Lachapelle, Murray Houck, Fred Zimmer, and Lindsey Lachapelle were elected as new Directors-at-Large.

Seaton will continue to serve as the Bandits’ Governor at the AJHL level, with Argue remaining the team’s Alternate Governor.

The organization was happy to announce the third-best regular season attendance average in team history at 1,394 per game, giving the Bandits the highest average attendance in the AJHL for the first time ever. Owing to the recent economic downturn, the organization also significantly reduced discretionary spending, and expects to continue to seek savings and cost efficiencies in the coming year to best position the team to grow its reserve funds.
