2018 AJHL Exhibition Season Opens Tuesday

The 2018 AJHL Exhibition Season opens on Tuesday night with four games and eight teams in action.  The 2018-19 season marks the 55th anniversary of the Alberta Junior Hockey League and will feature several international and national events including the opportunity to host the 2019 National Championship.

AJHL pre-season games will be played in several new communities including Frog Lake, Carstairs, De Winton, Peace River and Rocky Mountain House.  The Camrose Kodiaks will once again host a six-team pre-season tournament from August 29th-31st, 2018.

The 2018 AJHL Exhibition Season will include six interleague games versus the SJHL’s Humboldt Broncos, Kindersley Klippers and Battlefords North Stars.  The Whitecourt Wolverines and Grande Prairie Storm will play the Humboldt Broncos in a two-game series in Peace River, AB.  For the Broncos, these will be the first games played since April’s tragedy. The Broncos will host the event in Coach Darcy Haugan’s hometown, where he spent 12 years as Head Coach and started his legacy of developing great athletes and young men of character. Game one against Whitecourt will be on September 1st at 7:30pm and game two against Grande Prairie will be on September 2nd at 3:00pm

A select number of exhibition games will be broadcast on HockeyTV in addition to all AJHL regular season games.  A complete broadcast schedule and subscription information can be found at HockeyTV.com.
