716 CJHL ALUMNI IN NCAA DIV III

NCAA D-III programs featured 716 CJHL alumni competing in 2024-25

TORONTO – The 2024-25 season saw 716 Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) alumni competing with NCAA Division III programs throughout the campaign.

This brings the numbers to well over 1,500 former CJHLers who continued to further their educations while also playing collegiate and university hockey at USPORTS and NCAA schools across Canada and the United States.

Among those D-III players, seven were named American Hockey Coaches Association 1st Team All-Americans; three more garnered 2nd Team laurels while one earned 3rd Team accolades.

Earning D-III First Team East All-American status were:

Austin Mourar, (D) Hobart (Carleton Place Canadians/CCHL); James Philpott, (D) Hamilton (La Ronge Ice Wolves/SJHL; Melville Millionaires/SJHL; Drumheller Dragons/AJHL; Canmore Eagles/AJHL) and Nathan Berke, (F) SUNY-Cortland (Buffalo Jr. Sabres/OJHL; Collingwood Blues/OJHL; Brockville Braves/CCHL; Oakville Blades/OJHL).

Those picking up First Team West All-American recognition were:

Connor Kalthoff, (D) St. Olaf (Thief River Falls Norskies/SIJHL); Juliano Santalucia, (D) Aurora (Grande Prairie Storm/AJHL; Olds Grizzlys/AJHL); Hassan Aki, (F) Aurora (Lloydminster Bobcats/AJHL; Fort McMurray Oil Barons/AJHL; Calgary Canucks/AJHL; Drumheller Dragons/AJHL and Fletcher Anderson, (F) Wisconsin-Stevens Point (Pembroke Lumber Kings/CCHL; Smiths Falls Bears/CCHL; Kemptville 73’s/CCHL; Hawkesbury Hawks/CCHL).

Meanwhile, Damon Beaver, (G) Hobart (Stouffville Spirit/OJHL) picked up Second Team East All-American status, with Dayton Deics, (D) St. Norbert (Estevan Bruins/SJHL) and Liam Fraser, (F) St. Norbert (Kindersley Klippers/SJHL) doing likewise with Second Team West accolades.

You also had Ryan Berke, (F) SUNY-Oswego (Navan Grads/CCHL) being named to the Third Team East squad.

Also of note, eight CJHL alumni were members of the Hobart College Statesmen who captured their third consecutive NCAA D-III championship this season.
