Adam Johnson Joins ACAC Vikings

The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are pleased to announce that 20 year old captain Adam Johnson (Hay Lakes, AB) has committed to attend and play for the Augustana Vikings in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) for the upcoming 2011-2012 season.

Adam completed his final junior year as the 2010-2011 team captain and as the Oil Barons’ leading scorer. Over three years in Fort McMurray, Adam played 191 regular season and playoff games where he accumulated 66 goals and 91 assists. His strong leadership skills on and off the ice made him a very important part of the Oil Barons’ success. Adam was a player who was very versatile and was able to play in all situations.

His commitment to both hockey and academics was very evident as he was awarded the 2011 Enerflex AJHL Scholarship. Also, Adam was a finalist for the 2011 AJHL Most Dedicated Player Award.

The Oil Barons’ organization would like to congratulate Adam and his family and wish him all the best in his future endeavours both academically and athletically.
