AJHL Development Camp Kicks Off in Camrose

CAMROSE – The AJHL Development Camp, presented by Hockey Alberta, is taking place from July 17th – July 22nd in Camrose.  Eighty athletes from the Alberta Minor Midget AAA Hockey League (AMMHL) have the opportunity to participate in the AJHL Development Camp.

Hockey Alberta works with AMMHL coaches on player identification, final player selections and invitations. The camp features 2002-born athletes who played in the AMMHL in 2017-18, and who are not currently on the protected list of a Western Hockey League team.

Of the 2000 born players attending the 2016 camp, 33 have made their way to an AJHL roster.  Of the 2001 born players attending the 2017 camp, 14 were affiliated players with AJHL teams in the 2017-18 season.

The camp provides coaches with the option to complete their HP1 Certification and ensures high level instruction for the participants.  Players participate in on-ice activities that include six practices and four games, as well as off-ice and classroom sessions.
