With a full 17 days off between games, the Brooks Bandits headed to the big city to accomplish some team bonding.
First, it was the Scotiabank Saddledome for a Flames game and a bite to eat.
And the following day? A trip to the Calgary Zoo.
Keep in mind this is a herd of Alberta Junior Hockey players, ranging from 16 to 21-years-old — not Mrs. Smith’s Grade 2 classroom.
“Yeah, probably not the stereotypical junior hockey trip,” chuckled head coach Ryan Papaioannou. “But you have to keep the guys moving, get them doing something.”
Such is the problem the Bandits face after their domination of the AJHL this regular season.
