Bandits Oliver Chau Named Alberta Ford Dealers Player of the Month

Brooks Bandits Forward, Oliver Chau, is the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Player of the Month for January 2017.  In 11 games, Chau scored 5 goals and 17 assists for 22 points.  Chau was twice selected as the Viterra AJHL Player of the Week in January, and also received two Viterra AJHL Star of the Game Awards.

Oliver Chau recorded 8 multi-point games in January, including a 5 point game on January 11th in a victory over the Olds Grizzlys.  He is currently second in team scoring with 67 points (28G, 39A) behind teammate Tyrell Mappin, who recorded 21 points through the month of January.  Chau is third overall in the AJHL Scoring Race, leads the league in powerplay goals with 17, and has the second most goals with 28. 

The Brooks Bandits were recently ranked #1 overall in the CJHL Top 20 Weekly Rankings and have amassed a 17 game winning streak.  Oliver Chau is currently averaging 1.5 points per game for the Bandits. 

The 19 year-old Oakville, ON native has committed to the University of Massachusetts (NCAA Division I).

The Alberta Junior Hockey League is pleased to partner with the Alberta Ford Dealers Association and will recognize the AJHL Player of the Month throughout the regular season.  The AJHL and Ford also partner on the Alberta Ford Dealers Defensive Player of the Week.
