Brooks Not Taking Anything for Granted Despite 2-0 Lead

Maddison Smiley brought the Brooks crowd to its feet several times on the weekend.

The 19-year-old defenceman from Airdrie potted the OT winner in Friday’s Alberta Junior Hockey League final lid-lifter before notching a short-handed marker in Saturday’s 5-1 drubbing of Spruce Grove that has the defending champions halfway to a repeat. Along the way, he also recorded two assists and now has 13 points in 14 games this post-season.
