The first Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week for 2015 is Spruce Grove Saints goaltender Brett Zarowny. The 19 year-old goaltender opened the new year with 2 consecutive shutouts over the weekend in a road trip through the AJHL South Division.
The shutout victories were Zarowny’s first as an AJHL goaltender as he posted a 2-0 record for the Saints. Brett Zarowny (Elk Point, AB) was selected as the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game in the January 3rd victory over the Olds Grizzlys.
Zarowny has recorded a win in his last four games, assisting the Saints to a 9-1-0 record in the last 10 games. He leads all AJHL Goaltenders with a 1.96 GAA, and has the most wins amongst all AJHL North Division goaltenders with a record of 18-3-0. This is Zarowny’s first season with the Saints.
