The Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week is Canmore Eagles forward Colby Livingstone. During two games at the 2016 AJHL Showcase, Livingstone recorded 2 goals and 5 assists for 7 points.
In his second game of the Showcase, Livingstone contributed on 6 of the 7 goals scored by the Eagles with 4 assists and 2 goals, including an assist on the game winner. The Eagles went on to win 7-2 over the North Division’s Drayton Valley Thunder.
Colby Livingstone (Creston, BC) is second in team scoring with 12 points (3G, 9A) and is tied for 3rd place in the AJHL Scoring Race. In just 7 games, he has already surpassed his point total from last season (7Pts in 18GP).
The Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week is goaltender Patrick Gora of the Camrose Kodiaks. Gora allowed just 3 goals on 99 shots over two games last week, winning both games, and posting a shutout in the AJHL Showcase.
Gora (St. Albert, AB) started a 3 game win streak for the Kodiaks with a 5-3 victory versus Olds on September 27th. On October 1st, he recorded a shutout in a 1-0 OT win over the Spruce Grove Saints to close out the AJHL Showcase by stopping 44 of 44 shots. The third year Kodiak is 3-1-0 on the season and 6th overall among AJHL goaltenders with a .918SV%.
