Canalta Hotels Player of the Week & AB Ford Dealers Defensive Player of the Week

Alberta Junior Hockey League leading scorer, Parker Saretsky of the Spruce Grove Saints, is the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week for the week of September 17th – 23rd, 2018.  Saretsky scored 3 goals and 5 assists for 8 points in three games last week. 

The Michigan Tech commit leads the Saints and the AJHL early in the AJHL scoring race with 11 points in the first 5 games of the regular season and a 5-game point streak. 

Saretsky, 19, opened the week with a 4-point game (1G, 3A) in a 5-2 win versus the Camrose Kodiaks on September 19th and was awarded as the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game.  Over the weekend, Saretsky (Wainwright, AB) picked up 3 points in a 5-4 loss to Grande Prairie on Friday and a goal in a 5-1 win over the Storm the following night.

The next game for the Saints comes on Thursday night at the Annual AJHL Showcase – it will be a rematch of the 2018 AJHL Finals as they face the Okotoks Oilers.

Canmore Eagles defenceman Mark Drohan is the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week.  The veteran AJHL d-man leads the Eagles with 9 points (2G, 7A) in the first four games of the regular season. 

Drohan (Calgary, AB) recorded 2 goals and 5 points in two consecutive wins for the Eagles last week.  The highlight of the week for Drohan came on Sunday with a 4-point game (2G, 2A) in a 6-2 victory over the Calgary Mustangs, their first loss of the season.  Drohan assisted on the game-tying goal and game winner, then added two insurance goals to seal the win.

The Canmore Eagles will play their first game of the 2018 AJHL Showcase on Friday afternoon against the Fort McMurray Oil Barons.
