Steenn Pasichnuk of the Bonnyville Pontiacs is the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week for the week ending September 27th, 2015. Steenn scored 5 goals and 6 points in 3 games played, leading the Pontiacs to two victories last week. He scored a hat trick in a 3-0 shutout over the Whitecourt Wolverines on September 22nd followed by another 3 point night on September 26th in a 7-1 win over the Brooks Bandits.
The 20 year-old hometown boy from Bonnyville, AB is in his third and final season with the Pontiacs and leads the team in scoring with 9 points and an average of 1.0 PPG. Pasichnuk also sits in the Top 10 of the AJHL Scoring Race along with teammate Bobby McMann.
The Alberta Junior Hockey League is proud to partner with Alberta Ford Dealers to recognize the Goalie of the Week for the 2015-2016 AJHL Season. Whitecourt Wolverines goaltender Tanner McCorriston posted a 1.34 GAA in 3 games for the Wolverines and picks up the weekly award.
McCorriston allowed just 4 goals on 71 shots and went 1-1-1 in a tough schedule against North Division rivals over the week. He was named the Viterra AJHL Player of the Game in a 3-0 win over the Drayton Valley Thunder on September 26th when he recorded his first shutout of the season. The 20 year-old from St. Albert, AB has a 1.96 GAA and a record of 3-2-2 thus far. Tanner is in his third AJHL season.
