Whitecourt Wolverines forward Liam Motley is the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week. Motley scored 9 points (4G, 5A) in three games during the week ending December 11th.
Liam Motley, 19, recorded a 3 point game on December 6th versus Grande Prairie followed by a 2 point night in Spruce Grove on December 10th. He closed the week earing the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game award on December 11th with 3 points versus Lloydminster.
Motley (Calgary, AB) is second in team scoring with 33 points (17G, 16A) and is within the Top 20 AJHL Scorers. Since joining the Wolverines at the start of November, he has averaged 1.2 points per game.
The Whitecourt Wolverines hold top spot in the Viterra AJHL North Division with 52 points and are 6-3-1 in the last 10 games.
Okotoks Oilers goaltender Riley Morris is the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week. Morris was 2-0 in games against South Division rivals last week. He allowed just two goals while facing 60 shots on net.
On December 6th, Morris allowed just a single goal in a 2-1 shootout win over Camrose. He allowed just one goal again on December 9th in a 5-1 victory over the Calgary Canucks.
Riley has a record of 14-7-3, and is 3rd in the AJHL with a .923SV%. His 2.38GAA is 5th overall among AJHL goaltenders. The 19 year-old Calgarian is in his third season with the Oilers.
The Okotoks Oilers are 3rd in the Viterra AJHL South Division with a record of 17-8-5 and they are 7-1-2 in the last 10 games.
