Ethan Edwards Selected 4th Round by the New Jersey Devils

Spruce Grove, AB – Former Spruce Grove Saints defenceman Ethan Edwards has been selected by the New Jersey Devils (4th round, 120th overall) in this year’s NHL Entry Draft.

Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk spoke about the exciting moment, “We are very proud of Ethan on this accomplishment. For a young player like Edwards to come into the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) and have an immediate impact is very special. The New Jersey Devils have a great player and person in Edwards and I cannot wait to see him in the NHL.”

Edwards, who models his game after Boston Bruins defenceman Charlie McAvoy, joined the Saints for the 2018-2019 playoff run where he appeared in five games. He then went on to have an impressive 2019-2020 campaign, which saw him appear in 50 games, putting up nine goals and 33 points along with 83 penalty minutes.

Edwards, who is committed to the University of Michigan (NCAA) is currently a member of the Sioux City Musketeers in the United States Hockey League (USHL).

The Saints would like to congratulate Ethan and his family on this amazing accomplishment and wish him the best of luck in the future.
