oe Colborne doesn’t need a key to get into a particular city in northern Alberta.
But he’s got one just in case.
The Calgary Flames forward was handed a key to the city by Camrose mayor, Norm Mayer, during the Olympic break.
It will be a centre-piece of Colborne’s new Calgary home.
“I’m just about to move into my new place, so I’m sure that will be front and centre somewhere,” Colborne said. “It’s such a cool spot and point of pride to me to say I played for the (AJHL’s Camrose) Kodiaks.
“It was two of the biggest years of my life both in hockey and as a human being.”
Of course, the Kodiaks — the AJHL team Colborne played for during his junior days — also rolled out the red carpet.
The Kodiaks retired his No. 12 jersey last week in a full day of celebrations.
