Drumheller Dragons forward Bradley Gallo opened the season with hat tricks in back-to-back games to earn recognition as the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week! Gallo (2006) leads the AJHL after opening weekend with eight points (6G, 2A).
Gallo (St Albert, AB) scored three goals in the Dragons Home Opener on September 19th and added two assists to secure a 5-3 win versus the Canmore Eagles. With another three goals on September 21st, Gallo led the Dragons to a 10-3 victory over the Calgary Canucks. The second-year Dragon was awarded as the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game on both nights and recorded the game winning goal in each contest.
The Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week is Dragons rookie Sullivan Humeniuk who had a four-point weekend with his first AJHL goal and three assists. The 2007-born defenceman added an assist on Friday night against the visiting Eagles, then scored a goal and notched two assists versus the Canucks on Sunday. Humeniuk (Victoria, BC) and the Dragons are 2-0 to start the 2025-26 AJHL Regular Season.
Drayton Valley Thunder forward Colson Ganser is the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week following a four-point performance over two games. The 18 year-old picked up his first AJHL point with an assist in Friday night’s 4-1 win over the Olds Grizzlys. Ganser (Provost, AB) scored his first in the AJHL and recorded two more assists on Sunday when the Thunder fell 8-5 to the visiting Camrose Kodiaks.
