In a press release sent out April 20, Kodiaks coach Boris Rybalka announced that Kodiaks veteran Cam Gotaas will be the captain of the team for the 2015-16 season.
“The Camrose Kodiaks are pleased to announce that Cam Gotaas has been chosen as one of the Captains for the 2015-16 season,” read the release.
“With his great leadership he will lead the team in pursuit of their goal of being an AJHL Champion.”
The 5’9” forward has been a Kodiak since the 2011-12 season, playing a total of 159 regular season and 21 playoff games.
Since his first season with the Kodiaks, his impact on the team has continued to grow. He collected 17 points his second season, 20 points his third and jumped to 37 points over the course of this last season.
Gotaas was one of the assistant captains for the team this past year and Rybalka has spoken highly of his leadership skills both on and off the ice.
