William Zapernick (Sherwood Park Crusaders) and Max Giangualano (Canmore Eagles) each scored twice and defenceman Ryan Conroy (Fort McMurray Oil Barons) recorded 3-points in a 7-0 shutout victory for Team AJHL over Davos (Switzerald) on Tuesday. The game marked the final round-robin match for Team AJHL at the 2019 Junior Club World Cup in Russia and gives Team AJHL a 2-1 record at the tournament.
Team AJHL has finished second in Pool A and now advances to the Semi-Finals on Friday, August 30th @ 15:00 (6:00AM MDT) to face the 1st place team in Pool B. The only Canadian team to win the tournament in its nine-year history is the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in 2013.
