Drayton Valley, AB – The Drayton Valley Thunder are very excited to announce that forward Matthew Kinash has committed to Brown University (NCAA Div. 1) where he intends on studying Business and Science starting in the fall of 2020.
Head Coach and General Manager, Eric Thurston says, ?I?ve known Matthew for many years and to see him have the opportunity to go to a great school and continue to play at an elite level is wonderful to be a part of. I could not be happier for Matthew and his family.?
Thurston continues, ?Matthew?s work ethic in the class and on the ice is second to none. This opportunity is many, many years of hard work and commitment that Matthew has put in.?
?I am extremely excited with this opportunity to join the Brown Bears for the upcoming season. Many people have helped me achieve my goal of playing college hockey. I would like to thank the entire Drayton Valley Thunder organization, my teammates, and coaches for helping me become a better player and person. I wouldn?t have this opportunity without the support and motivation from the coaching staff here,? says a thrilled Kinash.
Thurston goes on to say, ?the goal of the Drayton Valley Thunder is to keep developing players and give them an opportunity to play NCAA or U Sport across Canada.?
Kinash is the 3rd Thunder player this year to be committed to an NCAA Div 1 school, with Captain Jesse Pomeroy going to Niagara University, and Henry Wagner committed to Yale.
