The Camrose Kodiaks got thee goals from three different players to edge the Wellington Dukes to win the Kodiaks’ first game of the 2011 RBC Cup May 1.
Joe Zarbo opened the scoring for the Dukes at 16:50 of the first period. That was the only goal of the first period.
But the Kodiaks would respond in the second period with a goal at 3:45 by Cole Wilson. The Duke would once again take the lead at 5:15 by Steve Evans.
The Kodiaks would score two more to cap off the second period. A goal at 7:53 Rylan Wiest and at 16:01 of the second period by Luke Challier on the power play.
There would be no scoring in the third period. Kodiaks’ goaltender Dalyn Flette made 42 saves to hold on for the win.
