The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are pleased to announce that 20 year old forward Michael Small (Edmonton, AB) has committed to attend and play for the Concordia Thunder in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) for the upcoming 2011-2012 season.
Michael was obtained by the Oil Barons during his final year of junior eligibility and played an important role in the success of the team in the regular season and in the playoffs. During his time in Fort McMurray he scored 13 goals and 21 assists in 42 games. Over his career, Michael played in 175 regular season and playoff games registering 50 goals and 95 assists. He was a player that could be counted on to produce speed, skill, and was offensively gifted.
The Oil Barons’ organization would like to congratulate Michael and his family and wish him all the best in his future endeavours both academically and athletically. Michael becomes the 4th Fort McMurray Oil Baron to secure a commitment from a post-secondary institution.
