BROOKS, AB – The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are delighted to announce the hiring of Nathan Crosby as the organization’s new Manager of Sales and Marketing.
In the position, Crosby will oversee all sponsorship and advertising for the organization, as well as marketing initiatives, customer and business relations, and community relations, in addition to other responsibilities.
His is a familiar name to followers of the AJHL, as he spent the last four years as the radio play-by-play voice of the Drumheller Dragons. The Didsbury native served initially as on-air talent at 99.5 Drum FM before becoming a radio Sales Consultant. He has also served as the television play-by-play voice of the annual Mac’s Midget AAA Tournament in Calgary, and broadcasted a variety of Canadian Interuniversity sports, including the 2014 CIS Men’s National Volleyball Championship.
“Our extensive search landed us an ideal candidate in Nathan Crosby,” said Bandits head coach and general manager Ryan Papaioannou. “We are excited to find someone with experience in both direct sales and Junior A hockey.
“Nathan has a great opportunity with our organization to continue the growth of our brand while creating new, long lasting partnerships,” he added. “I believe our business community will be treated to a first class experience dealing with Nathan and our ability to service the needs of our business partners has never been greater.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the Brooks Bandits,” said Crosby. “After spending four terrific years in Drumheller as the voice of the Dragons and working at the local FM station, I witnessed first-hand the passion communities have for Junior ‘A’ Hockey. I would like to thank the Drumheller Dragons for allowing me to broadcast their games and wish them the best.
“Marketing and community relations have reached a new level of significance and influence at this particularly important time in our franchise history,” said Bandits President Paul Seaton. “We are delighted to be able to secure the services of Nathan Crosby. His accomplished reputation provides us with considerable confidence. He will add significant depth to an already highly competent staff. We eagerly welcome him to Brooks and the Bandits team.”
“With an exciting announcement upcoming tomorrow, this is the perfect time for Nathan to make the move to Brooks. I would like to welcome Nathan and his girlfriend Cindy to the Bandit family and the community of Brooks,” Papaioannou also stated.
“As hard as it was to leave Drumheller, I feel comfortable moving to a new place and a new job knowing I will be working for a first-rate organization like the Bandits,” Crosby added. “As a radio sales consultant in Drumheller, I made it my goal every day to work hard for my clients and bring them the best value for their investments.
“I look forward to starting a life in Brooks and working with local businesses, organizations and people.”
Crosby’s first official day in the position will be Monday, June 26th.
