The Canmore Eagles are pleased to announce that defenceman Nikolas Kosman has committed to play for the University of Wisconsin Superior in the Fall of 2015. Wisconsin Superior is located in northern Wisconsin.
Kosman, a 20-year-old from Calgary, AB, spent four seasons with the Canmore Eagles of the Alberta Junior Hockey League and registered 46 points (15 goals and 31 assists) in 185 AJHL regular season games.
“We take great pride in watching young players like Nik develop both as hockey players and as individuals and we are thrilled that he will be able to carry on with both his hockey and education,” said Eagles Head Coach and General Manager Andrew Milne. “Unfortunately for Nik, he had a series of poorly timed injuries in his final years as an Eagle and that held him back from reaching his full potential statistically. Nik has a lot of skill and speed in his game and now he’ll have a second-chance to show everyone his offensive attributes at Wisconsin Superior.”
“They (Wisconsin Superior) contacted me just before Christmas, so this has been in the works for some time,” said Kosman, who will enroll in business studies. “Playing in Canmore has been an awesome experience and I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the fans, coaching staff, and my billet families for all their help and support. My four years in Canmore went by very quickly and I grew up a lot both on and off the ice. Now that my junior hockey days are over, I’m really happy to be going off to university to get an education and continue my hockey career.”
The entire Eagles organization would like to wish Nikolas the best in his future hockey and academic endeavors.
