After sixty games, it all comes down to this: playoffs.
The Fort McMurray Oil Barons wrapped up their regular season this past weekend in Lloydminster against the Bobcats, earning a 3-2 overtime victory on Friday before falling by the same score in regulation on Saturday evening.
“I thought we played well,” said MOB head coach Gord Thibodeau following Saturday’s loss.
“Obviously lots of things to improve upon, there always are but I thought we played well. Played well today; just weren’t ready the first five minutes. We hurt ourselves not being mentally ready for the first few shifts.”
Friday night, the MOB jumped on the Bobcats early and survived in the extra frame as they defeated the Bobcats 3-2 in overtime.
