Oilers Anounce Results of 2nd Annual Breast Cancer Fundraiser

The Okotoks Oilers Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club, are pleased to announce the results of their 2nd Annual Breast Cancer Fundraiser, held October 15 & 17.

During the weekend of October 15 – 17, the Oilers held their Second Annual Breast Cancer Fundraiser. Similar to last years event, the weekend included special edition pink jerseys worn for both games and a wide array of items donated for raffle. The Oilers were also fortunate to have a local business sponsor, iDental, who donated $10 per hit to the cause on Sunday’s game.

Over the weekend event, the Oilers were able to raise $5,800 to donate to the Alberta Cancer Foundation to benefit breast cancer research, topping last years amount by $700.

Oilers Manager of Marketing & Office Administration Dallas Hand: “We began the planning of this year’s event with one goal in mind, and that was beating our number from last year. We were able to once again secure some excellent donations from the foothills community and raise the bids of our jerseys throughout the weekend to ultimately accomplish our goal. Once again we had tremendous support from our volunteer base in Okotoks, who helped with the organization and execution of the event. It is a reminder that we are extremely fortunate to be a part of such a gracious and supportive community.”

Thank you to all the businesses, fans, and volunteers for their support over the weekend.
