Okotoks, Brooks Positioned for Sweeps in Second Round of Pllayoffs

The Okotoks Oilers took awhile to get going in the Alberta Junior Hockey League playoffs — being pushed to the limit in the opening round by Olds — but now the train is rolling.

After a 5-0 pasting of the Camrose Kodiaks on Monday night (in Camrose, nonetheless), the Oilers, up 3-0, are positioned for a sweep, seemingly destined for a showdown against Brooks in the South Division final. Yes, the No. 1-ranked Bandits, who posted the best regular season in AJHL history, are also up 3-0 in their series, pushing the Drumheller Dragons to the brink with a 5-1 win in Game 3 on Monday (in Drumheller, nonetheless).

Both squads can finish off their opposition on Tuesday night — Okotoks is in Camrose and Brooks is in Drumheller, with both games starting at 7:30 p.m.
