Pair of Bobcats Headed to Arizona State

The Lloydminster Jr. ‘A’ Bobcats are pleased to announce that 20 year old forwards Kory Chisholm (Lloydminster, Saskatchewan) and Kyle Bowen (Valencia, California) have committed to the Arizona State University Sun Devil Hockey Program for the 2012-2013 season. The Arizona State Sun Devils play in Divison One of the American Collegiate Hockey Association.

A five year Bobcats veteran, Kory’s career totals reached 46 goals and 71 assists for 117 points and 110 penalty minutes in 279 total regular season games. Kory holds the Bobcats record for games played and has won the team award for Most Dedicated Player each of the past four seasons. Kory was also nominated for the Don McNabb Memorial Trophy as the AJHL’s Most Dedicated Player for 2011-2012. As a hometown product, Kory is an idol to many aspiring Lloydminster hockey players and has been a terrific role model in the community during his time with the team.

A native of Valencia, California, Kyle had a break-out year with the Bobcats in 2011-2012, scoring 13 goals and 17 assists for 30 points in 55 games played. Over his three year career with the Bobcats, Kyle played in 166 games accumulating 33 goals and 42 assists for 75 points and 82 penalty minutes.

The Bobcats organization would like to thank Kory and Kyle for their outstanding contributions to the hockey club and to the community of Lloydminster. The Bobcats would also like to congratulate both young men and their families and wish them continued success in their future academic and athletic endeavours.

The Bobcats have now committed six players from the team’s 2011-2012 roster to post-secondary hockey programs.
