Leighton is an indigenous Canadian from Northern Saskatchewan. To have that label can be hard, but Leighton is a smart student, a hard worker, and a very sensitive guy – qualities of which provide more to Leighton’s character. He is always the first to sign up for any event, skate, etc. to help in the community.
Leighton likes to give back to the community by volunteering in his spare time. He has prepared snacks for kids with Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids (BB4CK), and packed fruits and vegetables with the Community Kitchen Program of Calgary. He also volunteered at Sarah Thompson School and the week was unforgettable. It’s a fun experience and gives him something to do away from hockey.
