Saints Gault Scores Ferris State Commitment

(Spruce Grove, AB) – The Spruce Grove Saints are proud to announce second year forward Caiden Gault has committed to the Ferris State Bulldogs who compete in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) of the NCAA’s Men’s Hockey Division I.

Gault has put together one of the most dominant goal scoring seasons in modern Saints history. He compiled the second most goals in a season in team history with 46 goals, accompanied with 27 assists for a total of 73 points in 58 games played. Gault’s 46 tallies also placed him 3rd in league goal scoring and 7th in overall league point scoring.

Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk was thrilled to see the long overdue commitment come for Gault.

“Caiden is a special player and in my time with the Saints I haven’t seen a player so naturally score goals. His release is NHL quality and he has instincts you cannot teach. Caiden has worked extremely hard, stayed patient and stuck to his development plan to achieve his goal of an NCAA scholarship.”

The 6’0″, 180-pound forward from Oakbank, Manitoba will join fellow teammate and often linemate Luigi Benincasa at Ferris State.

Saints Head Coach Bram Stephen shared his thoughts on his most recent and growing list of committed players.

“As an organization, watching Caiden’s evolution as a player in the past year has been a complete joy. He has such a high level of commitment to the game and awareness of what needs to be done to improve. He’s consistently showing up for us in the big moments and has become a great Saint.”

An excited Gault spoke of his commitment to the Bulldogs.

“I am very excited to be joining Ferris State and continue my hockey career. I couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity to play at the NCAA level with such a first-class organization that believes in me. I am so grateful for the support I have received right from minor hockey to the Rink Hockey Academy and finally to my parents, family and friends. I would especially like to thank the Spruce Grove Saints organization, especially my coaches and trainers, for giving me the special opportunity to play for the Saints. I couldn’t have done it without them. I can’t wait to be a Bulldog!”

Gault joins Jayden Davis (Notre Dame), Luigi Benincasa (Ferris State), Niko Jovanovic (Notre Dame), Liam Watkins (Nebraska-Omaha), Brett Pfoh (Bowling Green), Breck Mckinley (Bowling Green) as committed players to NCAA Divisions I university.

The entire Saints organization would like to congratulate Caiden and his family on his commitment.
