Saints Sweep Thunder With 7-4 Win

The Saints only needed four games to get past the Drayton Valley Thunder in the North Division Semi-Final Series. Josh Lazowski tallied twice including an empty netter to put the nail in the coffin of the Thunder’s hopes.

After giving up the first goal for the second consecutive game the Saints rebounded and scored 3 in the first period. The Thunder would find a way to answer back every time the Saints took a 2 goal lead in the game until the Saints shutdown game ended any hopes of a late game comeback.

Riley Reinbolt, Nolan Huysmans, Dylan Hollman, David Glen, Taylor Fraser, and Josh Lazowski (2) all contributed with goals in the contest as the Saints offense was just too much for the Thunder to deny. Brendan Jensen received his first start in the post season and came away with the win stopping 27 shots.

The Saints will now await the victor of the Sherwood Park Crusader and Fort McMurray Oil Baron series that could possibly wrap up Wednesday night in Fort McMurray as the Barons hold a 3-1 lead heading back up to the Mac.
