They saved the best for last.
The Spruce Grove Saints broke a scoreless tie midway through the decisive game of the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s North Division final on Tuesday night and never fell behind the host Whitecourt Wolverines as they skated to a 6-2 victory.
It was the widest margin of victory for the Saints in the four-game sweep, coming in the wake of Game 1’s 3-2 (OT), Game 2’s 4-3 and Game 3’s 1-0 scores.
