Sam Nyenhuis Joins Bandits as Athletic Therapist

The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are thrilled to announce the hiring of Sam Nyenhuis to the position of Athletic Therapist.

Nyenhuis joins the Bandits following a season with the U15 AAA Okotoks Oilers, and this past spring, worked with Hockey Canada at the 2022 Telus and Esso Cup.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join this prestigious hockey organization. I’ve seen and heard amazing things about the Bandits and am ready to bring my skills as an Athletic Therapist to the team and look forward to supporting the players this season,” said Nyenhuis.

She received her Advanced Certificate in Athletic Therapy from Mount Royal University, and in 2016 completed her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science at the University of Lethbridge.

“During the interview process Sam stood out to us as a person who would fit in well with our day to day culture and mindset of our organization,” said Bandits Head Coach and GM, Ryan Papaioannnou.

“She possesses experience and a willingness to learn. Her values when it comes to assessments and treatments were aligned with our staff. Sam has shown that she is eager to work for our organization and provide our players with elite day to day care. We are excited for her arrival in Brooks and looking forward to the beginning of training camp.”

The Bandits welcome Sam to the team and City of Brooks.
