Tanner Hicks Commits to Manhattanville College

The Brooks Bandits are proud to announce that 20 year old Defenceman Tanner Hicks has committed to play for Manhattanville College, beginning in the fall of 2013.  Located in Purchase, New York the “Valiants” are enjoying a successful season under first year Head Coach Arlen Marshall.

Tanner is from Calgary, AB and played his Midget hockey at the Edge School in Calgary before making the move to junior hockey in the BCHL. He spent time with both the Trail Smoke Eaters and Alberni Valley Bulldogs before being acquired by the Bandits in January of 2011. Since joining the Bandits he has become a staple on the blueline helping the team to its first AJHL Championship last season. Tanner has had a strong second season in Brooks posting 24 points in 45 games and being named an assistant captain.

He’s able to help us in all situations on the ice and that versatility makes him such a strong asset to our team. His choice of Manhattenville is two fold choosing both an excellent academic institution along with a strong hockey program. Tanner is an intelligent young man who will do great things at Manhattanville College on the ice and in the classroom”.

The Bandits Organization would like to congratulate Tanner and his Family on his athletic and academic future.

Tanner is the seventh Bandit comitted to play in the NCAA joining Patrick Lee (University of Massachusetts), Anthony Paskaruk (Clarkson), Corey Scammon (University of Massachusetts Lowell), Anthony Petruzzelli (University of Vermont), Chris Muscoby (University of Vermont) and Maddison Smiley (University of Massachusetts).
