Thunder Skate Toward Post Season

Playoff hockey is around the corner, but the Drayton Valley Thunder have been preparing all season long. With the team currently sitting sixth in the north division standings the boys will be a shoe in to suit up once the post-season begins on Feb. 24.

“We’ve been talking about playoffs since well before Christmas, that was a goal of our club moving into this season to be able to qualify for post-season play, and trying to get our players to understand what the playoffs are like,” says Fran Gow, head coach and general manager of the Drayton Valley Thunder. “A lot of these players at the AJHL level haven’t been in a playoff situation, this is the first time in a number of years that the club has been in playoffs. So we’re just trying to get our players to understand what to expect for playoff hockey.”
