BROOKS, AB — The Brooks Bandits will open up the 2017 RBC Cup national championship tournament on Saturday, May 13th, when they take on the Quebec Junior Hockey League and Fred Page Cup champion Terrebonne Cobras at 3:30 PM Eastern, 1:30 PM Mountain.
Their round-robin schedule continues with the Western Canada Cup runner-up Penticton Vees on Sunday, May 14th, also at 3:30 PM east/1:30 PM west, before a day off on Monday, May 15th.
The Bandits then take on the Central Canadian champion Trenton Golden Hawks on Tuesday, May 16th at 3:30 PM Eastern/1:30 Mountain, before another off day, and then finish the round robin portion against the tournament host Cobourg Cougars on Thursday, May 18th at 7:30 PM Eastern/5:30 Mountain. Round-robin seedings will then determine who plays in the tournament’s semifinal games on Saturday, May 20th, with the national championship final on Sunday, May 21st.
All Bandits games of the tournament will be aired on the team’s broadcast home, Real Country 105.7, with extended pre-game coverage beginning 30 minutes prior to puck drop.
In addition, the Centennial Regional Arena will host viewing parties for RBC Cup games, with admission free with a donation to the Brooks Food Bank, and the high definition broadcast displayed on the arena video board.
For Bandit fans interested in travelling to Cobourg to watch the games, most Bandit fans are reserving tickets in Section 220. Single-game tickets are $20 for the round robin, $25 for the semifinals, and $30 for the final.
