The Brooks Bandits are proud to announce 21 year old Defenseman David Watt has committed to play for the SAIT Trojans. Located in Calgary, Alberta the “Trojans” play in the ACAC and have a storied championship past.
David is from Duchess, AB, where he grew up playing minor hockey. He then took his game to Medicine Hat for Bantam and Midget AAA before joining the Brooks Bandits. David is the only player in the history of the Bandits to have played games in 6 different seasons; between 2006 and 2012.
In his final season with the Bandits, Watt was an Assistant Captain and won the team’s award for Best Defenseman at the annual Awards Gala. He also adds the distinction of an AJHL Championship to his final season of junior hockey.
Head Coach/GM Ryan Papaioannou – “The one thing that separates David from most players is his level of compete. I have seen him grow over the past four years on and off the ice, the challenge ahead of him at SAIT will be another he will conquer. David was very well liked by his team mates and was an easy choice as an Assistant Captain this past season. We have been fortunate enough to have a player with solidarity like David. “
The Bandits Organization would like to congratulate David and wish him the best in the future.
