Wolverines new training centre helps develop players

The Whitecourt Wolverines have a new weapon when they take on opposing teams. The weapon is not a new player, system or coaching strategy, but a building.

On Saturday, Nov. 29, the team will be unveiling their new 8,500 square foot Whitecourt Wolverines’ Centre of Excellence facility to the public. Just because it has not officially opened yet, does not mean the team has not been making the most of its new building.

Joey Bouchard, Whitecourt Wolverines general manager and coach, said the purpose of the team’s Centre of Excellence is development.

“It will help our whole program. It will develop the players. When you look at the facility, it is designed in a way that will help our players succeed.”
