The Brooks Bandits are proud to announce the hiring of Jeff Litwin to the training staff of the hockey club. Jeff will join current Trainer, Neal Bruetsch who will return for his third season as a trainer with the Bandits.
Jeff comes to the Bandits with a professional resume having graduated from Lethbridge College in 2009 with a diploma in Exercise Science along with a CSEP – CPT certificate. He then moved on to the University of Lethbridge, recently graduating with his Bachelor of Science majoring in Exercise Science. Through his post-secondary schooling, Jeff also worked as a Student Athletic Therapist with the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns Men’s Hockey team for two and a half seasons. Jeff is currently awaiting results of testing to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
Jeff is originally from Kindersley, SK where he grew up playing minor hockey through Midget until he moved to Lethbridge for post secondary studies. Current Bandits Trainer Neal Bruetsch also spent time in Kindersley as the Trainer for the Jr. A Klippers. Jeff & Neal will now work closely to take care of all the off ice training, medical and equipment needs of Bandit players this season.
GM/Head Coach Ryan Papaioannou – “I have known Jeff for many years, he has a passion for the game and will be an asset to our program. He spent time with us as a volunteer during last season’s playoff run and we were impressed with his skill set. We need to continue finding ways to grow and Jeff’s hiring is something we felt could benefit our players development and experience while in Brooks. There is such a huge workload for Trainers at this level and being able to separate responsibilities between two people is going to make our day to day much more efficient. Jeff will be able to add a significant amount to our off ice workouts maximizing the time our players spend in the gym.”
