CABANA WINS SCORING CHAMPION TITLE, SUKOVIC TOP GOAL SCORER

The winner of the Ernie Love Trophy as 2023-24 AJHL Scoring Champion is Lloydminster Bobcats forward Caden Cabana.  The Bobcats Captain led the AJHL with 69 points (27G, 42A) and averaged 1.3 points per game.

Caden Cabana (Bonnyville, AB) is a finalist for the 2023-24 AJHL MVP and Top Forward awards.  He was named the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game seven times in the regular season and was twice recognized as the Pizza 73 AJHL Player of the Week.

Cabana has played in 140 AJHL regular season games and recorded 117 points over four seasons.  He is the first Bobcat to capture the AJHL Scoring Title in franchise history.

Luka Sukovic of the Bonnyville Pontiacs has captured the 2023-24 AJHL Leading Goal Scorer award with 35 goals.  The Clarkson University (NCAA) commit is a finalist for the 2023-24 AJHL MVP and Top Forward awards.

The 2003-born centre ended the regular season tied for third overall with 67 points (35G, 32A). Sukovic earned recognition as the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Player of the Month in January 2024 and the Pizza 73 AJHL Player of the Week in February. In his second and final AJHL season, Luka was also selected as the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game seven times.

Sukovic and the Pontiacs completed the regular season fourth overall in the Canalta Hotels AJHL Standings and will meet the Drumheller Dragons in the opening round of the 2024 Inter Pipeline Cup AJHL Playoffs.  Caden Cabana will lead the Bobcats into the AJHL Playoffs as the second-place seed.   Round One of the Inter Pipeline Cup AJHL Playoffs will begin the weekend of March 15th-17th and will be a best-of-seven series.
