Goaltender Tommy Nixon of the Sherwood Park Crusaders is the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week for the week ending September 21st, 2014. Nixon recorded a 2-0 record and his first shutout of the 2014-2015 season, while posting a 1.0 GAA and .970 save percentage last week.
Nixon was awarded the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game in both games played. The 19 year-old hometown boy is 3-0-1 for the Cru this season with a 1.70 GAA and .947 save percentage. This is Nixon’s second season with the Crusaders.
The next game for Nixon and the Sherwood Park Crusaders will be on Thursday, September 25th when they battle the Calgary Mustangs at the 8th Annual Surge Energy AJHL Showcase in Spruce Grove, AB.
