The Bonnyville Pontiacs are pleased to announce that 20-year-old graduate forward, Tyler Henry (Balgonie, SK), has committed to attend the University of Regina commencing in Fall 2011.
The 6’1″ 175 pound Henry arrived during the 2008-2009 season where he collected 50 points (16-34) and appeared in all 60 regular season games. The solid play was enough to earn a spot on the 2009 AJHL North Division All Rookie Team and be recognized as the Pontiacs Rookie of the Year. A two year Assistant Captain, Henry registered career totals of 139 points (51-88) in 157 games. He was twice selected the Pontiacs Most Gentlemanly Player for the 2010 and 2011 seasons.
The University of Regina Cougars (CIS) play in the Canada West Universities Athletic Association. Henry will join former Pontiacs captains Craig Cuthbert and Lucas Isley on the Cougars roster.
