Kyler Nachtigall Commits to the University of Massachusetts

The Brooks Bandits are proud to announce that 1996 born Forward Kyler Nachtigall has committed to play for the University of Massachusetts.  Located in Amherst, Mass. the “Minutemen” play in the Hockey East conference under Head Coach John Micheletto.  Kyler is the fourth current Bandit to choose UMass joining Shane Bear along with Maddison Smiley and Patrick Lee who made their commitments last season.

Kyler is from Calgary, AB and grew up playing minor hockey for Simons Valley.  He then joined the Calgary Northstars Hockey Association and played four seasons between Bantam and Midget AAA.  Last season Kyler was a leader with the Calgary Northstars in the AMHL scoring 9 goals and 13 assists for 22 points.  In his rookie season with the Bandits, Kyler has had a great start scoring 5 goals and 13 assists for 18 points.

Bandits â??Head Coach/GM Ryan Papaioannou, “Kyler is an energetic young player that is dynamic and highly skilled.  With injuries to our team early in the season he has stepped into a first line role and contributed offensively in a big way.  Kyler has a very upbeat personality and we see him developing into a leader with our program.  He is a player that we believe will enjoy plenty of success at this level before moving on to play for UMass.  This decision was a natural fit for Kyler as he will join three teammates after his time with the Bandits.”

The Bandits Organization would like to congratulate Kyler and his family on his athletic and academic future.

Kyler is the eighth Bandit committed to play in the NCAA joining Patrick Lee (University of Massachusetts), Maddison Smiley (University of Massachusetts), Anthony Paskaruk (Clarkson), Anthony Petruzzelli (University of Vermont), Jake Larson (University of Alaska Anchorage), Braxton Bilous (Merrimack College) and Shane Bear (University of Massachusetts).
