Manah moves on from Crusaders

SHERWOOD PARK, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders have announced that Adam Manah has departed his position as head coach and general manager of the organization.

The decision is set to take effect immediately. Jeff Woywitka and Adam Sergerie have been named head coach and general manager, respectively.

“Under Adam’s leadership, the Crusaders were able to reach new heights both on the ice and academically,” stated team president Kevin Love. “Adam excelled in his various roles through his time with the Crusaders, but more importantly, exemplified the character our organization strives for.”

“We’d like to thank Adam for his years of hard work, and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”

Manah joined the Crusaders in 2015 as an associate coach to Tim Fragle. Following Fragle’s departure prior to the 2016/2017 season, Manah was promoted to Head Coach in 2016, adding the role of Assistant General Manager one year later. Over his five seasons, Manah has guided the Crusaders to a 168-104-11 record. Under his guidance, the organization set a number of single-season records under Manah. In 2019-20, the Crusaders broke franchise records in wins, collecting 49 victories, along with the team earning the #1 overall ranking in the CJHL. These were the best two seasons in Sherwood Park’s history. Additionally, through Manah’s tenure the Crusaders have become the hot spot for NCAA D1 programs, with a franchise-high 12 players players commit to Division l programs in 2019-20. That list continues to grow with over 35 commitments over the past 5 years.

The Crusaders would like to thank Adam for his contributions to the organization.
