The Sherwood Park Crusaders Hockey Club are proud to announce that Team Captain and 3rd year Crusaders defenseman Dane Phaneuf has committed to the University of Windsor (CIS) starting in September of 2015.
The University of Windsor Lancers compete in the Ontario University Athletic Conference (OUA) of the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS). The Lancers finished this past season as the 7th seed and earned a bronze in the OUA playoffs as well also earned a berth in the University Cup.
Over the course of three seasons Dane Phaneuf played in 195 games as a Sherwood Park Crusader accumulating 85 points. “We are proud to have helped Dane improve and grow in all areas of his game over the past three seasons,” says Crusaders GM/Head Coach Tim Fragle. “He is a fierce competitor that can play in all situations and he will be missed as he moves onto the next phase of his academic and athletic career,” says Fragle.
The Crusaders organization would like to congratulate Dane and his family on his commitment to the University of Windsor (CIS) and wish him all the best as he transitions into the next phase of his life.
