Prevost Commits to Windsor Lancers

Fort McMurray, AB – Coy Prevost has committed to attend and play for the University of Windsor Lancers of U SPORTS, starting this fall.

“Coy’s a player that came to us at the deadline this year and made an immediate impact to our team,” said MOB Head Coach and General Manager Tom Keca. “He’s a character kid that brought a lot of leadership and experience to our dressing room. As a coaching staff and organization, we’re thrilled for him and wish him all the best in Windsor next season.”

Prevost, 20, joined the MOB in a January 10 trade with the Eagles. Since joining the MOB, Prevost appeared in 18 regular season games and recorded 12 points (six goals, six goals), adding another six points (one goal, five assists) in 10 playoff games.

Prior to joining the MOB, Prevost spent the bulk of his junior career with the Eagles and served as the team’s captain.  In 158 regular season games over three seasons with the Eagles, Prevost amassed 126 points (58 goals, 68 assists).

“Coy is an exciting addition to our hockey program,” said Lancers Head Coach Kevin Hamlin. “He’s a three zone player who has excellent offensive instincts. We defy teams to out work us and our relentless puck pursuit philosophy is tailor made for him.”

“After sitting and speaking with Coy, I am more confident than ever that he is well-suited with our team’s identity,” added Hamlin.

Prevost is the fourth Oil Baron to attend and play for a post-secondary institution for next season.
