Hunter Price (Calgary, AB) started the week with an assist in a 6-4 road win versus the Camrose Kodiaks on Tuesday, December 5th. Sherwood Park played a home and home series with the Drayton Valley Thunder on the weekend starting with a 7-3 win at home and a four-point (2G, 2A) game for Price. The 2003 forward scored the game winning goal and was awarded as the Viterra AJHL Player of the Game. Hunter led the Crusaders to a 6-1 win on the road to wrap up the series and was once again selected as the Viterra AJHL Player of the Game with his fourth game winning goal of the season and a three-point (1G, 2A) performance.
The third year AJHL veteran is fifth in team scoring with 30 points (14G, 16A) in 32 regular-season games.
Crusaders teammate Kale Dach is the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week. The 2007-born forward led all AJHL rookies with 7 points (3G, 4A) and compiled three consecutive multi-point games.
Kale Dach (Fort Saskatchewan, AB) recorded a point on the first Crusader goal in all three victories last week. He scored a goal and an assist on December 5th in Camrose, collected three points (1G, 2A) at home versus the Thunder on December 8th and posted another two-point game (1G, 1A) in Drayton Valley on December 9th.
Dach is averaging nearly a point per game with 12 points (4G, 8A) in 13 games played. The Crusaders hold second place in the Canalta Hotels AJHL Standings with a record of 26-7-1 (W-L-OTL).
The Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week is Lloydminster Bobcats defenceman Brody Juck who extended his active point streak to six games with six points (1G, 5A) over four games.
Juck (Coquitlam, BC) led all AJHL defenceman in points last week while helping his team to three wins. On December 5th, he added two assists in a 5-1 road win over the Drayton Valley Thunder. He added another assist on December 6th as the Bobcats defeated the Whitecourt Wolverines 3-2 in overtime. The Bobcats split the weekend with a 5-3 loss versus Bonnyville and 5-3 win over Drumheller. Juck scored his sixth goal of the season and added an assist in the loss to the Pontiacs then recorded his 19th assist of the year in the win at home versus the Dragons.
The 2005 blueliner is in his first AJHL season and is in the Top 10 of AJHL defenceman with 25 points (6G, 19A).
