The eyes of Canada’s hockey development world will be on Fort McMurray August 7th. The Oil Barons and MacDonald Island are bringing the National Junior Team’s Summer Development Camp to town for the Red and White game.
The general public will be able to buy tickets beginning on July 18.
Game day will start out with a free community Pancake Breakfast at 10:00 a.m. with the 2011-2012 Fort McMurray Oil Barons team and followed by an autograph session with players who are taking part in the Red-White game at 11:30 a.m. Daytime events will take place at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre at MacDonald Island Park.
There will also be a luncheon with the players and coaches, which is open to the public at 12:00 p.m. Tickets will be sold for $100 and will go on sale on Friday, June 17. The luncheon will feature all 40 players in attendance at the camp, which is the first step towards selection of Canada’s National Junior Team for the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship.
