Tyler Jewitt rammed home the winning goal on a powerplay with 6:28 to go as the Camrose Kodiaks edged the Pembroke Lumber Kings 2-1 Wednesday night.

“It felt good to get that off my back,” said Jewitt, who scored his first RBC Cup goal after leading the Kodiaks all year. “We knew if we won that game, we’d lock up second place, so it was good for us.

“I think I got a deflection on it. It kinda went in off my stick.”

The Kodiaks have now won three straight games and goaltender Dalyn Flette has been a main factor in two of those wins. Wednesday night, he turned away 28 shots.
